A mention in the Guardian

I had a small mention in the Guardian newspaper this week, by way of the display in my local pub.

Images featured in onLandscape magazine

Four of my images are featured in onLandscape magazine's Subscriber 4x4 Portfolios section this month (issue 105). onLandscape is an excellent magazine, and well worth subscribing to, in my humble opinion.
Black + White Photographer of the Year 2015 runner-up award
28th November 2015
I'm honoured to report that one of my images was selected for a runner-up award in Black + White Photographer of the Year 2015 competition's 'Black-and-white at its Best' category. You can see it, as well as all of the other (well-deserved) prize-winning images in this month's Black + White Photography magazine (issue 184), available from newsagents. It was very nice to meet some of other prize-winners, as well as some of the organisers and judges, at the opening of the exhibition of the chosen images, hosted by Leica in London last weekend. The exhibition can also be seen at theprintspace, 74 Kingsland Road, London from 17 December to 14 January.
Some aesthetic tweaks
01st September 2015
I've tweaked a few images that recently had, slightly, been nagging me aesthetically.
I have a Facebook page
04th August 2015
I know I'm a Luddite, but I have, finally, got around to creating a Facebook page: Martin Dyde Photography on Facebook. Apparently it's what everybody else did years ago. I can't promise to post to it very often (film photography is far from instant), but I will endeavour to periodically.

There are also now share/like/tweet buttons on the pages on this website, should you feel the urge.

Thanks in advance for looking/liking/sharing/whatever-you-do.
Martin.

Pembrokeshire cliff study series
23rd December 2014
During 2014 I've also been working on a series of studies of the cliffs of Pembrokeshire (St. Davids Peninsula specifically). I find the calm, impassive, grey majesty of sea cliffs particularly powerful, which I hope this series communicates.

Hope you like these too.

Martin Dyde.
2014's new portfolio images
21st December 2014
I've been hard at work throughout 2014 making lots of new images, which can all now be viewed in my portfolio. The previous ones have also been revised to display better on the Web. A couple of the new ones are shown above (but there are lots more).

Hope you like them.
Welcome
08th September 2013
This site is a new home for black-and-white photography by me, Martin Dyde, plus, over time, thoughts on, and resources for, traditional monochrome film photography in the digital age.

Please go to the gallery to see some of my images and use the contact page for any enquiries. The about page has information about me.

Thanks for looking.
Martin Dyde.
